Lee Ann Rice is Staff Counsel for the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission.  With her position at SCHAC, she serves as the legal division’s primary legal liaison for the Board of Commissioners and the General Assembly, while also representing the Agency’s interests in State and Federal Court.

After graduation from Furman, Lee Ann attended USC’s School of Law.  As a 3L at USC, she received the Robert McCormick Figg, Jr., Trial Advocacy Award for her graduating class.

Lee Ann began her practice in Myrtle Beach at a small firm devoted to general practice litigation.  Having developed a love for collegiate mock trial as a Furman student, she coached the Myrtle Beach High School mock trial team, and now coaches the Brookland-Cayce team in Lexington County during the mock trial season.  She is currently a candidate for the Certified Public Manager Program through the State’s Office of Human Resources.

Lee Ann looks forward to serving the Midlands area by providing board leadership that facilitates more affordable mediation opportunities and fostering other projects that lead to more peace among individuals, and in our community and the world.

Outside of work and volunteering, Lee Ann loves to travel, and has recently been in Austria, Germany, and France.
