Philanthropy: Engage, Contribute and Share

People are motivated to support causes for different reasons. Most common reasons people give are:

  • Believe your gift can make a difference
  • Personal satisfaction
  • To support the same cause/organization year after year
  • In order to give back to your community
  • To honor another
  • Because you have been asked

Thanks for being involved in the life and growth of the practice of mediation and making our community better. Thanks to you Midlands Mediation Center’s vision, programs and services are positively impacting our sense of peace and access to justice.

People are motivated to give at different times and have different preferences for how they want to give. Since “one size does not fit all”, here at the Midlands Mediation Center we promote and offer several different giving opportunities throughout the year. Hopefully we will “connect” with you with one or more of our fund-raising appeals.

We are always on the lookout for grant opportunities that are well-suited to our endeavors. This is a year-around effort. Please let us know of a company or foundation whose priorities are in line with our services.

Sponsorship opportunities, which may be of particular interest to individuals and companies that want to specifically showcase their support of MMC and our work include:

  • Martin Luther King Day Peace Walk, on Monday, January 18
  • Building Bridges Celebration being held in conjunction with the June 25-26, 2021 SC Bar/ADR Conference.

In-kind gifts, tribute and memorial gifts, gifts of stock, and planned gifts are also welcomed.

In 2016 we launched our Multi-Year Giving Society for donors who pledge gifts of $300, $600 or $1,200/year for three or five years.  We appreciate those who recognize Midlands Mediation Center’s ongoing need to sponsor families’ mediations and assure that people with low incomes have a place to take care of important legal matters where mediation is required or most suitable.
Special thanks to our 11 inaugural Multi-Year Giving Society Members, and the six additional people who have joined since then.
