Valuable Conversations

On October 24, 2018 people in Lexington and Richland counties gathered around tables to talk about what’s great about our communities and ways to make it even better.   Midlands Mediation Center hosted 5 different tables throughout the area that day and 48 people joined our conversations.

Our conversations also included some discussion about conflict.   Unresolved conflict causes stress and diminishes quality of life.  We gathered thoughts about how to help individuals and groups deal with their conflicts safely and more productively.

Participants had the opportunity to participate in a short online survey that will help organizers identify issues and themes emerging from all the different On the Table conversations happening that day.  We look forward to seeing the report in early 2019.

Thanks to Central Carolina Community Foundation, as well as Famous Toastery, LRADAC, Reid Chapel A.M.E. Church, Rehoboth Baptist Church, and the Urban Cookhouse for providing our gathering places.
