Pat Forbis graduated from Duke University with an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. After working in the business sector for several years she pursued her law degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Pat’s practice has been in the Family Courts of South Carolina. She has served as both member and chairman of the South Carolina Bar’s Family Law Council.

During her legal career she has represented women who have suffered abuse and represented girls seeking judicial bypasses in the Family Courts. Pat has served on the boards of the Pee Dee Coalition against Domestic Violence and Child Abuse and the Coalition for Healthy Families.

Recently she has confined her practice to mediations in both family and magistrate courts in the hopes of helping those in conflict to resolve their issues through resolution, not litigation. She currently serves as the Treasurer of the Board of the Midlands Mediation Center.

Pat is married to Dr. Joel Duncan, a cardiologist with Palmetto Cardiology Associates.
